He is a Southern Oregon hip-hop & reggae artist named Mista Chief. As a Native American born to a Rastafarian mother, Chief had his early struggles as a hip-hop youth rebelling against her ways. Eventually, his own adult growth & venture into fatherhood gave way to his positive roots, allowing him to apply humble vibes and infuse a mix of dancehall reggae, with positive hip hop and appreciation of Native American culture into his music. MistaChief Chanta walks proud through his journeys in life spreading music that people can vibe to and connect with; he likes to think of himself as a bridge between cultures, a voice of the people and a link between many worlds. His debut lp NATION2NATION (available on itunes) features a song & music video with Abstract Rude, and as an artist on the Keep The Feel Ent. roster, Mista Chief is featured on a solo & posse song on the forthcoming KTF Ent. label sampler. Chief has done northwest legs on previous FwyToFAT runs, including the one he & his brother Stryk-9 lit up that just ended this past spring with AyeM Ray-DIO, DJ ZoLe & Spends Quality. This past April 2015 marked the 1st time that he & his brother Stryk-9 blessed the Flow & Tell main event stage for vol.9 in Los Angeles . And yes, they rocked it. "That's my Native! That's, that's my native!"
