Hailing from Whittier, CA (the 562) is this MC, battle champ and former DJ known as Joaquin Daniels. His haydays as a deejay date back to side room duties at LA's famed club The Root Down. Since putting the turntable down for the microphone circa the late 2000's, Joaquin has grown confidence as an MC by working with legends like DJ Fat Jack who produced his sophomore ep ENDURE, and other dope producers like EQ, Spok Beats & Rokem who all share beat placement on JD's forthcoming material. The impressive list of rap legends he's worked with includes Abstract Rude, Myka 9, Aceyalone, Awol One & 2Mex. As for live performances, Joaquin Daniels did a Dear Abbey tour with Ab Rude & KTF crew back in 2012; since then his name has appeared on the gamut of local indie rap shows from Urban Underground to HuskeyRadio, TheShowcase626 and Flow & Tell. This past April 2015, Joaquin Daniels was crowned FAT9 "SBRC Champ" (an acronym for Sixteen Bar Rap Competition) - his second time in three volumes achieving that victory. This past October 2015 he defended his title in a Tournament of Champions welcoming all former winners & runner-ups, eventually succumbing to current champ Namek who won the belt. Undeterred, Joaquin is busy recording his next projects & working on his craft.
